Oil level sight glasses

Oil level sight glasses are important components that are used in various branches of industry. They are used to monitor liquid levels, especially oil, in machines and systems. Oil level sight glasses make it possible to check the condition of the oil in real time in order to recognise potential problems at an early stage and take appropriate measures. They thus contribute to preventive maintenance, reduced downtimes and improved efficiency of machines and systems.

These sight glasses consist of a cylindrical housing with a transparent viewing window. The housing is usually made of thermoplastic polyamide. It is installed in the oil line and thus enables a direct view of the oil. The transparent window is often made of a resistant material to withstand temperatures of up to 90°C and chemical loads. The oil level sight glasses from norelem are resistant to solvents, but not to alcohol or frost. norelem offers screw-in and press-fit oil sight glasses in its range.

The use of oil level sight glasses offers several advantages. By continuously monitoring the condition of the oil, it is possible to detect contamination, particle formation, foaming or clouding of the oil at an early stage. This makes it possible to plan maintenance work before costly failures or machine damage occur. Oil level sight glasses can also help to extend the service life of the oil, as a timely oil change can be carried out when necessary.

In industry, oil level sight glasses are used in various applications. They are used in engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, turbines, pumps and other machines that use oil as a lubricant or coolant.

Screw plugs, press-in plugs

Screw plugs and press-in plugs are used to close openings securely and prevent the ingress or leakage of liquids, gases or dirt.

Screw plugs are often used in mechanical and technical systems. They provide a reliable seal and ensure the functionality of machines and devices. Be it in the automotive industry, machine construction or electronics - screw plugs are highly versatile. They can be used to plug e.g. pipes, containers, tanks, engines and valves.

Press-in plugs , on the other hand, are used to close openings that are temporarily unused. They offer a simple and effective solution for reliably plugging holes or threads. Press-in plugs are used in the automotive industry, the sanitary sector, electronics and many other industries.

At norelem, you will find a large selection of high-quality screw plugs and press-in plugs that meet the high demands of industry. The products are characterised by their quality, reliability and ease of use.

In addition to the standard screw plugs and press-in plugs, norelem also offers the following products:

Filler necks, vent screws

Filler necks and vent screws are components that are used in various mechanical systems and equipment to fill in liquids or bleed air.

norelem divides the products in this category into three areas:

  • Filler necks
  • Vent screws
  • Caps

A filler neck is a connection through which liquid can be filled into a system or device. The filler neck is fitted with a cover or cap to prevent the liquid from escaping unintentionally. Filler necks are used in various applications such as engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, fuel tanks, cooling systems and other equipment that require liquid.

Use of a filler neck makes it possible to fill liquids into a system in a safe and controlled manner without trapping air.

Vent screws are screws that are used to release air from a system. Air can accumulate in closed systems containing liquids, which can lead to problems such as air bubbles, reduced efficiency or malfunctions. Vent screws allow air to be removed from the system to ensure optimum performance.

Vent screws are used in brake and clutch systems, hydraulic systems, cooling systems and many other machines where air needs to be removed. By opening the vent screw, the air can escape and the system can be filled with liquid or vented.

If the cap of a filler neck is lost or damaged, this is not a problem. norelem offers caps for filler necks as accessories.

Oil level gauges

Oil level gauges make it possible to accurately measure and display the oil level in containers or tanks. This is important to ensure that there is sufficient oil present to guarantee the correct operation of machines or systems. By regularly monitoring the oil level, it is possible to detect shortages or leaks before serious problems occur.

Knowing the oil level makes it possible to plan maintenance activities better. If the oil level is too low, this may indicate a loss of oil or a leak. In this case, both must be repaired quickly. By monitoring the oil level, it is possible to set maintenance intervals and schedule oil changes at the right time to ensure optimum performance.

If the oil level is too low, this may also result in insufficient lubrication, which can lead to increased wear and damage to machinery or components. By using oil level gauges, damage can be avoided and downtime reduced.

Electronic oil level monitoring goes one step further and offers additional benefits such as the generation of automated alarms or warnings. For this, the oil level must be predefined at a certain level. As soon as the oil falls below this level, the oil level indicator with electronic oil level monitoring emits a signal.

Electronic oil level monitoring also enables remote monitoring of the oil level in real time. Remote monitoring is particularly useful if the oil tank is installed in a remote location or one that is difficult to reach.
