Pneumatic cylinder

A Pneumatic cylinder is an important element of pneumatic automation technology. It was developed as a pneumatic drive for use in machines and systems and consists of a cylinder.

This is filled with compressed air to generate a linear movement.

The cylinder is connected to a piston that moves in the direction of the cylinder when compressed air is supplied. The piston can be connected to various types of tools or machines to control the movement. Pneumatic cylinders are frequently used in the automobile industry, the aerospace industry and in robotics.

The pneumatic cylinder is used in many industrial applications to move parts. It is available in various sizes and configurations to meet the specific requirements of the application.

Our range includes the following versions of a pneumatic cylinder:

There are two types of pneumatic cylinders: single-acting and double-acting pneumatic cylinders.

Single-acting pneumatic cylinders are the most commonly used cylinders. Here, the piston only moves in one direction and thus generates a linear movement. They are cost-effective, easy to install and maintain.

With the double-acting pneumatic cylinder, the piston is attached to both ends of the tube and can therefore be moved in both directions.

The double-acting pneumatic cylinder provides more power and enables larger loads to be lifted and lowered. However, this means that they require more compressed air than single-acting cylinders. Double-acting pneumatic cylinders are therefore more expensive to purchase and maintain.
